Media on Petri dishes

Available sizes of dishes and packages

·  Ø 90 mm, plates, biplates and triplates; 10 pcs in a package

·  Ø 55, 120 i 150 mm; 5 pcs in a package

Storage and expiry date

Storage temperature for ready to use media on Petri dishes: 6-12ºC. Expiry date: usually 3 months from the date of production.

 

Limitations

Blood-containing media and some media containing antibiotics have a 45-days expiry period.

Expiry period for MRSA Agar - 30 days.

Expiry period for mFC Agar and Bismuth Sulfite Agar - 21 days.

 

Attention: Following media: Endo agar, Endo Les agar, Bismuth Sulfite agar and chromogenic media are particularly sensitive to light!

Dehydrated media, peptones, agars, biological extracts and organic components

Available in packages: 500 g

Attention: The exception is chromogenic media, packed in kits containing dehydrated medium and supplements for preparation of 1000 or 5000 ml of ready to use medium.

 

Storage and expiry date

Stored at 2 - 30ºC. Expiry date: 3 years from the date of production.

Opened packages should be closed tight and stored in a dry place ad temperatures indicated on the package.

 

Limitations

Do not use the medium if during storage it has become lumpy, discoloured or changed its appearance in any other way.

 

Media in bottles

Available in packages:

· bottle 100 ml, 10 pcs in a package

· bottle 200 ml, 10 pcs in a package

· bottle 500 ml, 6 pcs in a package

 

Storage and expiry date

Most bottled media should be stored at temperature of 6-25ºC. Expiry date for bottled media: 12 months from the date of production.

Attention! Use all the contents of the bottle once opened. Do not store the opened bottle!
